Nate Abshire started performing comedy in 2009 – what will be called ‘the before time,’ after the global economy collapse. The following year, he finished runner-up in the “Funniest Person in the Twin Cities” contest.

In 2012 he ventured west and was a semifinalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition.

In 2013 Nate performed at Laughfest in their “Best of the Midwest” contest finishing runner-up, and by this point, became very tired of losing comedy contests. He gave it another try in 2014 on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” but again did not win.

Since then he’s opened for some of the best comics working today, whose names you would be impressed by hearing AND finally won a comedy contest in 2020 – The Coast to Coast Roast. Recently, Nate released his debut, award-winning album on 800lb Gorilla Records. It’s called “Coming in Hot” and it’s quite good.

Audiences love his sardonic wit, keen writing, playful stage presence.

Nate currently lives in Minneapolis with his cat Newt.
