Birthday Bash was a success last year, time to celebrate making my first lap around the sun in my 50’s.
This year I’m pulling all acts from out of state. I know and have met a lot of local acts, and on this night, I want them to come to the Den and enjoy a great show with me while we all have the night off!!!
I will be slowly announcing the full line up over the next week.
This is not a private party! Whether you know me (Jamie) or not (or even like him) come check out one of the sickest free shows in town. I’ll even have cake for everyone! (Until its gone!)
First act announcement: el Jefe!
El Jefe is a rural Nebraska-based one-man riverbed-folk and blues artist from McCook, Nebraska. He performs handling vocals, guitar, and a train whistle all at once. Hillbilly country combined with folk and punk aesthetics. The perfect kick off for the evening!
Second act announcement: ELOUR
ELOUR blends punk rock energy with classical technique. Elizabeth Ghandour is a classically trained operatic soprano who holds a vocal performance degree from St. Olaf College. After a brief stint pursuing musical theatre in New York City, she returned to Minnesota and transitioned from folk and Americana music into writing heavy, empowering rock.
The band’s music tackles themes of female empowerment, bodily autonomy, and challenging societal stereotypes. Their lyrics frequently embrace raw emotions—such as rage, anger, and lust—that are historically discouraged or dismissed when expressed by women.
ELOUR fits somewhere in between Blondie and PJ Harvey. We all need ELOUR in our playlists!
Third act announcement: More Cheese!
More Cheese are 3 piece Cheesy Punk Alternative from Des Moines Iowa formed by accident & refined over time just like other cheeses!
This is the kind of More Cheese I love. I usual order light cheese or hold the cheese at a restaurant.
They have been all over the US in the last couple of years and almost guaranteed to break out. This is likely the last time I can even afford them to play, even on my birthday as they will likely blow up!
Headliner act announcement: E-Turn
E-Turn, is an American independent hip-hop artist, MC, singer, and voice actor based in Orlando, Florida. She is of Iranian, Indigenous, and Latina descent.
E-Turn gained significant attention in 2013 when she jumped into an impromptu rap cypher at a KRS-One concert in Orlando. Her elite lyricism and bulletproof delivery stunned the hip-hop legend, and the video of the moment went viral, quickly putting her name on the map.
She is highly regarded for her sharp, technical rhymes balanced by melodic hook delivery. She has released two albums together with SPS (Dark Trust(2013) and ESP(2015)). In 2018, she signed with the prominent indie rap label Fake Four Inc., releasing her breakout solo album Young World in 2018, produced entirely by her long-time collaborator Swamburger. She followed up her musical catalog with subsequent conceptual projects like So Meta in 2025.
She has won Orlando Weekly’s Best Hip Hop act several times.
In 2020, she contributed to the soundtrack of the locally produced film, Valentine Crush and even had a supporting role in the film. The film played in 35 film festivals around the US and had 31 awards and nominations (15 awards, 16 other nominations).
I’m very excited to have her back in Sioux Falls playing at my birthday bash!
